「Sheep in a Jeep」「Sheep in a Shop」是共讀群 Manda很久很久以前推薦給我的，那時候我對於廖單不熟悉也不是那麼感興趣🤣。共讀幾次後，覺得小羊們可愛又搞笑的，短句子和兩歲多的嫩薑共讀起來沒什麼大大壓力，跟其他長篇繪本屬性不同，屬於輕鬆小品。
初期和嫩薑共讀這兩本時，我們會一起觀察圖片的細節，並加以描述，這個方式可以讓嫩薑了解韻文句子意思，進而理解、聽懂句子所描述的故事情節。
📖 Sheep in a Jeep by Nancy Shaw
故事主軸圍繞著綿羊們開著吉普車卻因粗心沒注意到前面的陡坡，跌進泥堆裡而引發的一連串事件。
這本押韻的字對兩歲多的嫩薑來說比較容易記憶，相較於「Sheep in a Shop」。
👩：「Five sheep are in the jeep. Who is the driver?」
👶：「This one.」
👩：「Yes, the one wears a ____.」
👶：「Hat!」
👩：「It's a cowboy hat! Heeha!」
吉普車動不了，綿羊們跳下車去推車。
👩：「Let's help Sheep push the jeep. 」
綿羊們用力推，累的發出哼哼聲；他們忘了看前面的路。
👩：「Sheep didn't look up front! Can you say "Watch out, Sheep!"?」
👶：「Watch out, Sheep!」
👩：「Watch out! Steep hill!」
結果不小心吉普車碰的一聲滾進泥堆裡，深陷其中。
👩：「Oh, dear! Sheep roll down the hill and the jeep too.」「I think we should be careful when we walk down a hill.」
綿羊們高聲咩咩叫，尋求幫忙。
👩：「Sheep can't get out of the gooey mud. So they ask for help. Who can help?」
👶：「Pig!」
👩：「There are two pigs in the mud. Pigs like to roll in the mud. Will pigs help?」
👶：「Yes!」
吉普車被拉出來了，綿羊們開心大叫！
👩：「The jeep is out of the mud . How do Sheep feel ?」
👶：「Happy!」
👩：「"Hooray!"they might say. They jump up and down happily!」
結果重新上路後，綿羊司機忘了握方向盤，撞壞了車子，綿羊哭了起來。
👩：「Oh, no! They crash the jeep onto a tree. Now they feel ___.」
👶：「Sad!」
👩：「They cry for the broken jeep.」
結局就留給大家自行閱讀，發掘囉！😆
兩本裡所有的句子都有押韻，韻感很強，加上句子簡單，嫩薑聽一段時間後，就被洗腦到可以接龍尾字，或是句子；當他跟著唸出句子，或是提前說出句子而被我拍拍手說好棒的時候，感覺他很開心☺️。這對未來語言學習有什麼效果我目前不確定，對我來說這表示他對故事內容有相當程度的理解，超棒的！
📖 Sheep in a Shop by Nancy Shaw
綿羊們出門採買自己的生日禮物，在商店裡挑選禮物時發生了小慘劇以及不夠錢買禮物，幸好最後綿羊們想出了辦法，成功買到禮物，開心地為自己慶生！
故事情節簡單，不過裡面的字相較於「Sheep in a Jeep」偏難一些。
翻開封面看到一群綿羊在看櫃子裡的甜點，像一群孩子們圍觀好吃的甜點那般，好可愛！
👩：「Desserts! Sheep are buying desserts! We have pies, cakes, biscuits, and fairy cakes. Which one would you like to try?」
👶：「This one!」
👩：「What is it?」
👶：「Strawberry cake!」
👩：「Mmmm, it looks yummy.」「Why do sheep want to buy desserts?」
生日快到了！太棒了！
👩：「Their birthday is coming. It's in May!」
🔆 嫩薑開始對月份有興趣之後，會詢問綿羊的生日在幾月。
綿羊們來到商店位生日選購禮物。綿羊們揮揮網球拍，摸摸火箭，還有穿上滿是口袋的外套。
👩：「They find many interesting things in the shop, like ______.」
🔆 初期共讀，唸到rackets, rockets, jackets, pockets這幾個字時手指就會放在對應的圖片上。嫩薑熟悉故事後，我會指著圖片請他說出對應單字。
👶：「Racket, tennis ball, rocket ...」
綿羊們決定買海灘球；他們中意展示台上的那個球，但拿不到。
👩：「What do sheep want to buy for their birthday?」
👶：「Beach ball!」
👩：「They like balls as you do!」「But the ball is put in a high place. Sheep can't get/reach it.」
綿羊們爬上盒子要拿球，結果跌個四腳朝天，盒子們也倒光光，綿羊們和盒子摔成一團。
👩：「Sheep climb up the boxes. Boxes fall!」
綿羊們重新把沙灘球給疊好，之後在架子上選了些彩帶。
👩：「What do sheep do with the balls?」
👶：「Put them back. 」
👩：「Yes, they work together to clean up the mess.」
結果要結帳的時候，發現存錢筒裡的錢不夠，該怎麼辦呢？他們可以用什麼來交換呢？
👩：「They don't have much money to buy the beach ball. What can they swap?」
綿羊們最後剪下身上的毛，賣了滿滿的三大袋，錢付清了！
👩：「Sheep trade their wool for the beach ball!」
在溫暖的春日裡蹦蹦跳跳回家，準備慶生！
👩：「They get everything they need for their birthday! How do they feel?」
👶：「Happy! 」
👩：「Yeah, happy, excited. They can't wait to start their birthday party!」
細讀這兩本故事後我和嫩薑都喜歡上這五隻小羊出糗的趣事。句子韻感很強，很容易被洗腦而記下來，押韻的韻腳未來也可以用來學習自然發音呢～
