這本嫩薑喜歡程度一般般，但我自己很喜歡！喜歡Mel從樹上掉下去時每個動物不同的反應，以及結束鳥媽媽在樹上看到Mel安全回家時，給她的擁抱跟鼓勵話語。
🔆Mell Fell有中文版，但英文版真的不難，真心推薦英文版的。
Mel趁媽媽不在家的時候，決定嘗試自己飛行；她從樹枝上跳起來，翻跟斗，然後一躍而下。掉落途中，很多動物試著要接住Mel，但都沒有成功。正當蝸牛先生以為Mel要墜落到地上時，splash！Mel掉進水裡了～
📖 The Fox series by Corey R. Tabor
自己非常喜歡狐狸，所以以狐狸為主角的繪本我都會多看一眼，因此我就默默地多收集幾本，想說以後嫩薑自主閱讀的時候也可以自己看(?)🤣。🔆這系列好像有七本的樣子。
🔆「Fox the Tiger」、「Fox at Night」這兩本獲得Theodor Seuss Geisel Award。
🔆 Fox the Tiger的寓意「It's best to be yourself」、「Self love is the best love to have.」對嫩薑來說還太深奧了，所以這本他興趣最低。
這系列嫩薑都蠻喜歡的；我跟他最喜歡「Fox Has a Problem」、「Fox at Night 」故事蠻有趣的，結局很令人驚艷！這裡就分享這兩本唷！

🔆 sibling (n)兄弟姐妹。
🔆 jump/ flip/spread wings/fell這一連串的動作我邊唸便做出動作，具體化單字，嫩薑更能理解。等到唸了幾次，換我請嫩薑把動作做出來。
🔆 lend a hand：help幫忙。
👩：「Look! Fly is happy cause he is free from the web.」「What is the spider doing?」
👦：「Catching Mel.」
👩：「Did he make it?」
🔆這頁是唯一橫著看，也是故事轉折處。轉來轉去，讓共讀過程更有變化。
Mel張開嘴吧，咬住一條小肥魚後，踢踢腿、搖搖尾巴上的羽毛後，張開翅膀，然後...
Mel飛出來了！繼續一路往上飛，松鼠們追著她往樹頂端跑。
👩：「Owls look so surprised to see Mel again!」「What are squirrels doing?」
👦：「Chasing!」
👩：「Yeah!They raced Mel to the top.」
最後見到媽媽了！
👩：「Mummy is so happy to see Mel. What does she say?」
👦：「I knew you could.」
👩：「Then Mel say?」
👦：「I knew I could.」
① Mel Fell文字雖簡單，但卻很生動，主要以「fell」＆「flew」這兩個對比字貫穿整個故事線；其他文字像是「She jumped. She flipped. She spread her wings. Then she fell」 透過圖片就很好理解。整個故事沒有太難的英文單字。
② 直著翻頁的書，建構出由高而下墜落的空間感，轉來轉去，讓共讀過程更有變化。
找影音資料時，發現JY Book有出歌曲版，很有趣也～

📌「Fox Has a Problem」
狐狸的風箏們卡在樹上，他得想辦法把他們弄下來。可是狐狸的方法不但不管用，反而還讓他的朋友們不開心～
👩：「Look up, something gets stuck in the tree.」
👦：「Kite!」
👩：「ONE kite?」
👦：「One two tree....」
👩：「So many kites! Fox has a problem with his kite.」「What can he do?」
👦：「A big fan.」
👩：「Wow, that's a giant fan.」「Will Fox get the kites out of the tree?」
👩：「Oh dear! Animals are not happy with Fox.」「who's there?」
👦：「Elephant!」
👦：「Fox is on top of Bear!」
👩：「It's a wonderful teamwork.」
🔆結局我就不破梗了！很推薦這本～
📌「Fox at Night」
狐狸很害怕夜晚，因為夜晚充滿了怪物。他遇到蝙蝠，蝙蝠告訴他沒有怪物，並帶著狐狸一起去探險。沿途遇到的都不是怪物，是一些夜行性動物喲！
👩：「The night is full of monsters! A monster with only one eye....」裝很害怕的口吻
👦：「A monster with three eyes!」
👩：「This is what monsters look like in Fox's mind.」
👩：「Monster! Fox is so scared!」
👩：「Is it a monster? A monster is playing music?」
👦：「No!」
👩：「If it's not a monster, what is it?」
👩：「Is this a monster?」
👦：「Yes!」
👩：「Yeah! Pointy horns, three yellow eyes and sharp teeth make a monster!」
一群動物最後真的遇到monster了！然而到底是誰嚇誰呢？結局令人反思呢～
看著調皮的可愛萌萌狐狸，讓我想到在瑞士健行時，在山上遇到的火狐(赤狐)，長得很像，只是看起來比較野性～
Corey R. Taobr的Fox系列插圖蠻有趣的，讓我和嫩薑共讀的時候產生蠻多的互動。雖然是I Can Read裡最初階的讀本，卻一點也不無聊，故事充滿含義，劇情很有和孩子討論的空間；自己共讀時，也同時在思考～難怪其中兩本獲獎呢！沒獲獎的也很有趣啦！🤣
