一年一度的敦煌世界繪本節講座即將在這星期日在竹北敦煌書局登場，非常期待這次會有哪些有趣、很棒的繪本呢～❤️
『Catch That Chicken』『I Used to Be a Fish』是某年參加繪本節講座，透過講師介紹而發現的有趣繪本。。第一本主角沿途抓雞的過程非常非常吸引嫩薑；作者Antinuk是西非奈及利亞人，因此故事主角、場景充滿非洲風情， 我自己非常喜歡這部分。『I Used to Be a Fish』則是用簡單的故事線來講述演化(evolution) ；這本比較適合四歲以上的孩子，去年共讀時看著嫩薑困惑的眼神覺得很好笑，今年某幾天睡前嫩薑自己挑了這本來共讀，他有沒有懂我也不是很清楚🤣🤣。

🔆 這本在GoodReads的評分有4.8，非常的高！
在西非某個院落住著一位名叫Lami的小女孩，她非常喜歡雞。
🔆 compound：有圍籬的大院。
👩：「Chickens include roosters and hens. Daddy rooster, Mummy hen and baby chick. 」
🔆 這頁的場景我很喜歡，讓我回憶起小時候阿公阿嬤的三合院，以及比鄰而居親戚們。也跟嫩薑一起觀察大院裡面的人在做什麼。
👩：「Can you find Lami?」「What is she doing?」
👦：「Here!」「She is catching the chicken.」
👩：「Yes, she is chasing the chicken.」「Look! This boy is rolling the tyre. It's fun!」
👦：「What's this?」嫩薑指著綠色那台台子問。
Lami是村裡最會抓雞的人。
🔆 lean 傾身；lunge 撲、衝；leap 跳耀。可以的話，將動詞的動作演繹出來能讓孩子更理解這三個動詞的意思。
這天Lami又在抓雞了，「Sannu! Sannu! 」「Slow down!」身邊的人大叫著！Lami追著雞爬上了猴麵包樹(baobab)。
🔆 baobab： a short thick tree, found especially in Africa and Australia, that lives for many years。
🔆 sannu ：take it easy。
👩：「This tree is so huge!」「Where is Lami?」「Up up Lami climbs the tree! Can you tell Lami to slow down? or Sannu, Lami?」

結果不小心從樹下掉下來，扭傷了腳，無法再爬樹了，也無法在抓雞了。
👩：「Lami is crying! Why?」
👦：「It hurt!」
👩：「Yes, she sprained her ankle, and that hurt!」「Do you see the swollen ankle?」「Lami feels sad cause she can't do what?」
👦：「Catch the chicken!」
👩：「She now needs crutches for walking.」
奶奶安慰著Lami並說，「想要抓到雞不是靠快腳，而是要用腦袋思考！」
Lami想著想著，她知道該怎麼做了！Lami後來怎麼抓到雞的呢？
👩：「Quick thinking means you "think," come up with a way to solve a problem.」「Does Lami come up with a solution to catching a chicken?」
👦：「Yes!」
👩：「What does she do?」
👦：「Spread the corn!」
👩：「Spread corn to attract ?」
👦：「Chicken!」
這本書光看標題或是封面可能會覺得不太吸引人，但內文蠻有意義的。原本以為嫩薑不會太有興趣，沒想到有一陣子每天入選睡前共讀清單。
自己很喜歡繪本中奶奶說的那段充滿智慧的話語；在和嫩薑溝通的時候我也等他冷靜下來，拿這個來舉例，請他想想該怎麼辦？雖然常常得到很奇妙，不著邊際或是更故意讓你生氣的回應😆，但隨著他長大，透過此繪本引導常常橫衝直撞的嫩薑思考如何解決問題蠻不錯的呢！

📖 I Used to Be a Fish by Tom Sullivan
『I Used to Be a Fish』用很簡略的方式呈現演化(evolution)的過程，也可以說是過度簡化了，不過我覺得還算蠻適合嫩薑四五歲的年紀；又或是把它當作演化論的入門介紹也可以。 插圖線條簡單、畫風簡潔。或許也能說不是很美🤣。
我以前是一隻魚，但我厭倦了游泳。
🔆 used to：sth always happened or was true in the past, although it's no longer happens or it's no longer true now.過去習慣、過去常做...。
👩：「The fish doesn't look happy. He is tired of ______.」
👦：「Swimming.」
👩：「He doesn't want to stay in the water anymore.」
所以我慢慢長出了腳，上了岸。
👩：「If you want to walk on the land, you need _______.」
👦：「Legs.」
👩：「Exactly! So the fish grows some legs.」
上了岸，遇到想要吃掉我的敵人。我學會了如何躲藏，躲避敵人。
👩：「There's a bigger creature that wants to eat this small creature. So he learns how to hide. Where does he hide?」
👦：「On the tree.」
👩：「That's right! This way, the big creature can't catch it!」「Animals don't wear clothes, so they grow fur to keep them warm.」
歷經了火山爆發，地球終於冷靜下來，我也一直在演化。
👩：「From a lizard to _______.」
👦：「Monkey!」
👩：「Look! This one looks similar to that one. But there's a difference between them. Can you find it?」
👦：「This one has no tail!」
我越長越高、也越來越聰明。
👩：「Wow, now he can walk just on two legs.」
住在山洞不舒服，所以我蓋了間小屋，然後漸進蓋了一棟房子。
👩：「Can you find the differences between these two houses?」
👦：「This one has two Windows. ...」
隨著人類文明進展、科技的進步，未來會發生什麼事情呢？或許未來我能飛上天空呢！
👩：「Maybe one day we can fly like birds!」
最後一頁有著簡單的生物演化論(the theory of evolution)。
🔆 這張嫩薑似乎還看不懂；大一點再來試試看。這兩本書的風格跟內容光看封面是不太會引起我的興趣🤭，是透過講師的介紹才發現原來這兩本書蠻有趣的耶！豐富了我的繪本收藏，開拓選書的視野～超棒的！
