「What Jobs Could You Do?」「Clothesline Clues to Sports People Play」這兩本是偏認知類的繪本；嫩薑很喜歡關於運動類的繪本，有陣子幾乎睡前共讀必點「Clothesline Clues 」。
🔆Clothesline Clues 系列還有「Clothesline Clues to Jobs People Do」因為跟What Jobs Could You Do很類似，我就沒有入手了。「Clothesline Clues to The First Day of School」Goodreads 分數太低，加上嫩薑也上學很久，所以就沒慾望購入了。🤣
這本我喜歡他分類職業的特點跟一般不太一樣；藉由提問你是否喜歡「＿＿＿」，接著提供你相關的職業選擇。例如「Do you want to make things?」，給的職業選擇有carpenter, shoemaker, set designer等；其他提問類別像是「Do you want to be loud or quiet?」「Do you want to get messy?」「Do you want to discover new things?」等等。此外，繪本所提供的職業很多元。

做什麼事情會讓你開心呢？你喜歡玩的髒兮兮嗎？還是喜歡沈浸在書海裡呢？又或是喜歡修理東西的挑戰呢？

你喜歡動手做東西嗎？場景設計師(set designer)、麵包糕點師傅(baker)、shoemaker(製鞋匠)等等的職業都很適合唷！
你想要熱鬧一點的環境還是安靜點的呢？偏好安靜的話有圖書館員(librarian)、瑜伽老師(yoga teacher)或是野生動物攝影師(wildlife photographer)等的選擇。

不怕髒、不怕亂嗎？園丁(librarian)、養蟲農夫(worm farmer)或是獸醫(vet)可以考慮看看。
喜歡數字嗎？機器人科學家製造跟修理機器人；電子遊戲開發者(video game developer)
或是氣象學家(meteorologist)等等都是相關職業。

喜歡畫畫嗎？除了painter之外，還有動畫師(animator)、繪製地圖師(cartographer)或是塗鴉藝術家(graffiti artist)的選擇唷！

喜歡寫作的人呢，可以考慮作家(writer)、新聞記者(journalist)或是編劇(script writer)。
透過這本，我自己也認識一些在台灣比較不熱門，或是比較不為人所知的職業，例如window cleaner、tree surgeon、cat-food tester(貓糧品嚐師)等等。有一次在IG上看到一個訪問影片，有個路人被問到他為什麼選擇window cleaner這個職業，他說因為他喜歡攀岩，window cleaner算是比較跟攀岩比較相似的職業選擇，非常有趣的觀點。或是plumber水電工這個職業在台灣被認為是社會地位不高的工作，不過在英國plumber的收入蠻好的🤣。
要說此繪本的缺點可能就是有些職業爸媽要先做一下功課，以免孩子問說那是什麼而回答不出來🤭。
🔧 延伸活動--職業工具配對活動
構想起於想讓職業可以立體一點，因此做了簡單的Jobs & Tools的配對活動。剛好嫩薑有陣子很喜歡黏貼配對遊戲，一起搭配蠻有效果的。
挑選的職業偏向日常生活中可見的，或是相關的，例如doctor, chef(cook), illustrator等等。
剛好有相關的玩具，請嫩薑找出符合的工具，擺放在一起，順便討論如何使用這些工具。

嫩薑很喜歡運動，這本繪本第一次共讀他就愛上了！介紹運動以及相關的配備，除了熱門的籃球、足球網球外，還有介紹劍術跟射箭，算是認知類的繪本，蠻適合加入日常生活的英文用語。

🔆 繪本是用soccer，但嫩薑已經習慣用football，所以我共讀用football.
🔆 foil 擊劍運動用的花劍，a thin, light sword used in the sport of fencing；opponent 對手。
🔆 擊劍的動詞改用do而不是play，下面的射箭也是一樣用do。
🔆 How to Learn to Fence 這個網頁有簡單的擊劍術語介紹。
🔆 quiver：a long think container for carrying arrows 劍筒。
👩：「Just put an arrow on the bow, then let go of the string to shoot the arrow. The yellow rings score 10 and 9 points. The smaller one is 10.」
🔆 家裡有夜市玩遊戲換來的射箭玩具，剛好可以拿來配對說明。🤭
當初想入手這本的動機是嫩薑開始對許多運動產生興趣，再加上裡面已經有他熟悉的運動，猜想他一定會喜歡！果然我猜對了！🤣 也趁機置入英文學習，學習除了 「play +運動」之外，還有「do +運動」的用法。
唸了一陣子故事類有點膩了，換換不一樣口味也不錯！嫩薑現階段處於充滿好習心、吸收力很好的時期，我想要好好把握他進入大班前這幾年給予不同材料的認知型繪本(主要還是以故事類繪本為主)，增廣他對這個世界的認識☺️。
